The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of psycho-social counselling services for students appearing in the 2025 board exams. Set to begin on February 1, 2025, these services aim to provide emotional and psychological support to students during the stressful examination period.
Since 1998, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been dedicated to offering Psycho-Social counseling services to Class X and XII students during their crucial examination period. In line with this commitment, CBSE will once again provide its annual, free-of-cost Psycho-Social counseling in two phases: before and during the exams, as well as after the results are declared.
For the 2025 academic session, Phase 1 of the counseling services will begin on February 1, 2025, and continue through April 4, 2025. This initiative is designed to reduce examination-related stress and provide support to students as they prepare for their theory exams, which are set to start on February 15, 2025.
24x7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is providing a 24/7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) through a toll-free number, 1800-11-8004, offering continuous support in both Hindi and English. This service aims to assist students and parents with a variety of resources, including:
- Helpful tips for stress-free exam preparation
- Techniques for managing time and reducing stress
- Responses to commonly asked questions (FAQs)
- Key contact information for CBSE support
Tele Counselling Services
A team of 66 skilled professionals, including principals, counselors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and psychologists, will provide voluntary assistance to students.
The services will be available from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. Among the counselors, 51 are based in India, while 15 will be providing support remotely from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
Podcasts/Audio-Visual Content
A Bilingual podcasts and video resources focusing on stress management, exam preparation strategies, and mental well-being will be accessible on the official CBSE website.
