According to CBSE, this new approach aims to reduce the pressure of a single high‑stakes exam, allowing students to focus more on continuous learning and giving them a chance to improve their performance if needed.
While the two‑exam system is confirmed for Class 10 starting in 2026, the Board has also hinted that a similar format may be introduced for Class 12 later, although no official decision has been announced yet.
