Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning (SAFAL) 2025-26 Guide

SAFAL is a competency-based assessment framework introduced by CBSE to evaluate students' understanding at key stages of learning.

It focuses on conceptual clarity, critical thinking, and application-based skills across subjects.

• SAFAL–KSA was launched by CBSE in July 2021 as per NEP 2020 (para 4.40) to assess student competencies and improve teaching practices.

• SAFAL 2024–25 was successfully conducted with participation from around 10,000 CBSE-affiliated schools in India and abroad.

• From 2025–26, SAFAL–KSA is mandatory for all CBSE schools. It will be conducted for students of Grades 6 and 9 (those in Grades 5 and 8 during 2024–25).

• Registration is open from 8th July to 22nd July 2025. Schools can log in using LOC credentials at: - https://cbsesafal.in/login
