In a significant move under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE has announced that Class 10 board exams will be conducted twice a year starting from the academic session 2025-26. This reform aims to reduce student stress by offering a second chance to improve scores.
Key Highlights:
✅ Two Exams Per Year – Students can appear twice, choosing their best score.
✅ Exam Dates – First phase: Feb 17 - Mar 6, 2026, Second phase: May 5 - May 20, 2026.
✅ Exam Groups – Subjects categorized into four groups: Languages, Electives, Regional/Foreign Languages, and Others.
✅ Same Exam Centers – No self-centers allowed; the same center will be allotted for both exams.
✅ Single Practical/Internal Exam – Conducted once a year.
✅ Support for CWSN Students – Special accommodations will continue.
✅ Sports Students – Can choose to appear in one exam without a separate session.

Students struggle and are getting so much tension for one exam itself.. Think about two exams ?
ReplyDeleteThe idea of conducting exam may be worth . But it's almost like proxy complementary exam.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, many students will be relaxed in the hope that they will better in next.
And, the consequences may be different.
Thirdly, economic burden on students/parents as well as Parents would postpone their activities.
Answerbook evaluation will be challenging .It would not only affect the vacation of teachers but also disturb the teaching of other students. General teaching for other classes will be hampered.
Like CCE Pattern, and 50%exam policy,,it would be a flop show again. We don't have that much resources and infrastructure.
Regards
Teachers have to do two times evaluation.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the summer vacations of teachers ? Any plan or idea about teachers summer vacations.
Better take exam as term 1 with half syllabus and term 2 with remaining half syllabus. Take best score of two exams and prepare report card.
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteWill teachers be paid for copy correction? Will they go to another school for correction or do it in their own school?
ReplyDeleteIt's a burden for students and teachers.I don't think it's work. Kindly decline this proposal 🙏
ReplyDeleteIts burden and stress for students who is appearing first time in public exam. Additionally physical and mental pain for teachers who has to run behind the students and give them practice through out the year.
ReplyDeleteEventually it's not a favourable for students future.. kindly of mental agitation to student to demotivate the interest on studies
I do not agree due to following reasons Increased Stress on Students – Instead of reducing pressure, having two board exams may create continuous stress, as students will have to prepare for high-stakes exams twice a year.
ReplyDelete2. Disrupts Regular Learning – Frequent exams might lead to a focus on exam preparation rather than deep learning and conceptual understanding. Schools may prioritize exam-oriented teaching instead of fostering creativity and critical thinking.
3. Unequal Access to Resources – Many students, especially in rural areas, may not have access to extra coaching, study materials, or guidance to prepare for two board exams, creating an unfair advantage for some.
4. Limited Scope for Other Activities – Students should have time to engage in extracurricular activities, sports, and skill-building. Two board exams can reduce the time available for holistic development.
5. Additional Financial Burden – Families may face extra expenses for coaching, study materials, and exam fees, making education more costly.
6. No Clear Benefit Over the Existing System – The current system already includes periodic assessments and pre-board exams. Conducting two board exams may not necessarily improve student learning or performance.
It will be burdon on students and teachers as well. Instead board has to to conduct term exams giving half syllabus.
ReplyDeleteStress of the students will be more and it will be a burden I prefer only one exam
