What is the CBSE Science Challenge?
The CBSE Science Challenge is an initiative for students of Classes VIII to X that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Held in April-May 2025, the 2025-26 challenge focuses on the theme "Science, Environment, and Sustainability", encouraging learners to explore scientific solutions for a better future.
Important Information about the CBSE Science Challenge
- Two-Stage Format: The challenge is conducted in two rounds – first within schools, then at the inter-school level.
- No Participation Fee: Both rounds are free for all participating students.
- Eligibility & Registration: Open to students of Classes VIII to X in CBSE-affiliated schools. Schools must register students for Round One.
- Selection for Round Two: Each school can nominate 6 students (2 from each class) from the first round.
- Structure & Certificates: The test includes MCQs with a focus on speed and accuracy. Round Two participants receive digital certificates; top performers get appreciation certificates.

- Round One (School Level): 21st to 25th April 2025
- Round Two Registration: 28th April to 2nd May 2025
- Round Two Challenge: 5th to 9th May 2025
How to Register?
CBSE Science Challenge 2025-26: Conduct Process
I. Round One (First Stage)
- Registration: Schools must register the number of participants on the Science Challenge Portal from 11th to 17th April 2025.
- Conduct of Round One: The first round will take place between 21st and 25th April 2025, with the challenge paper and scoring criteria available from 21st April.
- Selection for Round Two: Based on Round One performance, each school will select 6 students (2 from each class, 8 to 10) for Round Two.
- Round Two Registration: Schools must register selected students between 28th April and 2nd May 2025.
II. Round Two (Second Stage)
- Conduct of Round Two: The computer-based challenge for registered students will occur between 5th and 9th May 2025.
- Test Details: Additional instructions will be provided to schools that have registered students for the second stage.

Eligibility and Participation in the CBSE Science Challenge 2025
Q1. Who is eligible to participate?
Students from Classes 8 to 10 of CBSE-affiliated schools are eligible to participate.
Q2. How many students can participate from each school?
Each school can select two students from each class (8 to 10) to participate in Round 2.
Q3. Is there any registration fee for participation?
No, there is no registration fee for students participating in either round of the CBSE Science Challenge.
