National Online Competitions for Students on 31st World Ozone Day 2025

The depletion of the ozone layer causes health problems like skin cancer, eye cataracts, weaker immunity, and damage to crops and ecosystems. To fight this, the Montreal Protocol was signed on 16 September 1987, aiming to phase out harmful ozone-depleting substances. This global treaty has greatly reduced such substances and set the ozone layer on the path of recovery. In 1994, the UN declared 16 September as World Ozone Day to spread awareness. Every year, schools organize competitions to inspire students to protect the ozone layer.
