The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the Secondary (Class X) and Senior Secondary (Class XII) Board Examinations 2026 for students from more than 31,000 affiliated schools in India and 26 countries abroad.
The examinations will be held from 17th February 2026 to 10th April 2026.
Approximately 46 lakh students will be appearing for the examinations across 8074 examination centres in India and abroad.
🌟 Major Initiatives Introduced by CBSE in 2026
In line with its commitment to innovation and transparency, CBSE has introduced the following important initiatives:
- Second Board Examination in Class X
- On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class XII
- Division of Question Paper in Science and Social Studies for Class X
These initiatives aim to improve flexibility, enhance evaluation transparency, and strengthen the overall examination system.

📡 Live Webcast on Examination Guidelines
Conducting examinations at such a massive scale requires meticulous planning and effective coordination at both examination and evaluation centres. To ensure clarity regarding amended policies and newly introduced measures, CBSE has decided to organize a live webcast for all concerned functionaries.

- Date: 13 February 2026
- Time: 11:00 AM onwards
- Duration: Approximately 2 Hours
The webcast will focus on:
- Guidelines for the conduct of Board Examinations
- Detailed explanation of On-Screen Marking (OSM)
- Implementation of new examination reforms
All Heads of Institutions, Centre Superintendents, Observers, Examiners, and concerned officials are advised to attend the session to ensure smooth and error-free conduct of the examinations.
