Celebrating National Space Day 2025: Honoring India’s Space Achievements

National Space Day (23rd August) marks India’s historic Chandrayaan-3 success in 2023, when the Vikram Lander softly touched down on the Moon’s South Pole, making India the fourth nation to land on the Moon and the first at this region. Declared by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this day celebrates India’s growing space achievements. As we approach 23rd August 2025, the second National Space Day will be observed nationwide to honor ISRO’s milestones and highlight India’s latest triumph—our presence on the International Space Station.

National Space Day Activities in Schools

Schools are encouraged to mark National Space Day by holding assemblies, exhibitions, workshops, and interactive sessions with local scientists or space experts in both offline and virtual modes. These activities will showcase India’s growing strength in space science, spark curiosity among students, build national pride, and motivate them to pursue STEM careers while contributing to the nation’s future progress in space technology.

Chandrayan Utsav Modules

NCERT has released 10 Chandrayaan Utsav modules, available in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Maithili, Telugu, Urdu, Nepali, Odia, Tamil, Sanskrit, Assamese, Dogri, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, and Sindhi.
